Océane Bouillé, a student on a Master 2 in International Management Latin America at the IAE Pau-Bayonne. Through her various assignments, she is contributing to companies' commitment to CSR.

‘I've always been interested in social and environmental issues, and CSR allows me to contribute, in my own way, to the transition towards a more responsible economy’.

Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Océane Bouillé and I'm currently studying for a Master 2 in International Management - Latin America at the IAE Pau-Bayonne. I'm passionate about the challenges of ecological and social transition and I'm aiming for a career in sustainable finance, CSR and impact consulting. I'm currently doing my end-of-studies placement with Danone, in the Sustainable Finance and Performance team.

What are you studying at the IAE Pau-Bayonne?

I'm doing a Master's 2 in International Management, with a focus on Latin America. This course offers a multidisciplinary approach to management, with an emphasis on interculturality and international openness, thanks in particular to academic and professional mobility in Latin America. It enabled me to complete my initial training with a DUT in Business and Administration Management in France, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Business and Administration Management in Spain.

What has been your career path so far?

Before this Master's degree, I did a number of work placements in a variety of organisations, both in the private sector and in consultancy and NGOs. In particular, I worked for a committed sports retailer in Geneva and for an insurance company in Luxembourg. I've also had the opportunity to work for a sustainable development consultancy in Mexico, and now for a food group in Paris. These experiences have enabled me to develop a cross-disciplinary vision of sustainability issues, with links to finance, strategy and project management. They have also strengthened my desire to work in a dynamic, meaningful environment with an international outlook.

In 2024, you joined the Master 2 International Management Latin America at the IAE Pau-Bayonne. Why did you make this choice?

I chose this Master's programme to deepen my understanding of economic and social dynamics in an international context, particularly in Latin America, a region that I've always wanted to explore professionally. The programme combines teaching in strategy, intercultural management and international development, which fits in perfectly with my career plans. I was also attracted by the opportunity to gain field experience abroad, which enabled me to do a 6-month placement in Mexico in the field of sustainable development.

Tell us about your professional experience as an Impact project manager. What do you do? Who do you work with?

I'm currently working at Danone in the Sustainable Finance and Performance team. My tasks involve helping to integrate ESG criteria (environment, social and governance) into the group's financial management tools, participating in the monitoring of extra-financial performance and supporting the structuring of impact indicators. I'm working with financial and sustainable development teams in France and abroad. This internship is giving me a real insight into how a major group integrates sustainability issues into its strategy.

What made you decide to work in CSR?

Above all, it's a desire to put my skills at the service of meaningful projects. I've always been interested in social and environmental issues, and CSR allows me to contribute, in my own way, to the transition towards a more responsible economy. I also like the fact that this field is constantly evolving and requires a global vision of the issues.

Would you have any advice or words of advice for students and alumni who, through their professional or personal lives, would like to become more involved in impact projects?

Yes: start where you are, with the means you have. You don't have to wait for a big project to get involved. Every gesture counts, and every experience is an opportunity to learn. Don't hesitate to try things out, talk to committed professionals and surround yourself with people who share your values. Impact often starts with awareness, then simple but consistent actions.
