Mayalis Dicharry - Export Sales in the wine Industry - Alumni of the IAE Pau-Bayonne Master degree in International Trade
“The IAE Pau-Bayonne is a human-sized, family-oriented school that teaches rigor, perseverance and hard work, which are necessary qualities for the working world.”
Hello, can you introduce yourself in a few words? Which IAE Pau-Bayonne course did you graduate from? What has been your career path so far?
My name is Mayalis Dicharry and I'm a wine export saleswoman.
I was lucky enough to do the Master's degree in Management and International Trade at the IAE Pau-Bayonne three years ago. I began my post-baccalaureate studies in economics and management with an Erasmus trip to Ireland. As I'm extremely attracted by the international scene, I logically decided to do the International Trade Master's degree. I made a point of doing it at the IAE Pau-Bayonne rather than at a business school. It was a superb experience, both academically and on a human level.
I was once again lucky enough to go on Erasmus and do an internship with a Bordeaux wine merchant. The company where I did my internship very quickly offered me a position in their team. So I decided to sign a permanent contract as a Sales Assistant to get to know the company and its markets. After a year, I was promoted to European Sales Manager.
In 2021, you joined the Master 2 International Trade program at the IAE Pau-Bayonne. Why did you make this choice?
I knew I wanted to work in the international arena. This Master's degree seemed the most consistent with my desires and objectives.
How did the IAE Pau-Bayonne help you in your career and in building your career?
The IAE Pau-Bayonne is a human-sized, family-oriented school that teaches rigor, perseverance and hard work, all of which are necessary qualities for the world of work. To progress in the professional world, you have to work hard, just like in this Master's program.
Could you also tell us about your international mobility and what this experience brought you?
I was lucky enough to go on an Erasmus program in Croatia, in Dubrovnik. Although Croatia is an almost “heavenly” destination, it's a very welcoming country where I have wonderful memories. I'm still convinced that Erasmus is the experience of a lifetime, and that everyone should be able to have a taste of it one day. It makes you grow, think and open up to the world and its differences. The values acquired during these international experiences are very useful in the world of work, and more specifically in international business. You come out richer for it. I advise all students to do an Erasmus as part of their course.
