Relive in pictures the UPPA Alumni afterwork: entrepreneurship meetings!
On Tuesday, June 3rd, the afterwork event UPPA Alumni: Entrepreneurship Encounters brought together alumni, students, businesses, and local ecosystem partners in Pau. Co-organized by the UPPA Alumni network, the entrepreneurship team of the DPIE*, and the Hélioparc Technopole, the event was part of the University Innovation Cluster (PUI) South Aquitaine Innovation, led by UPPA. It highlighted diverse and inspiring entrepreneurial journeys, fostering rich and friendly exchanges.
The event, hosted by Thomas Perron, began with an introduction by Stéphane Gibout, Technology Transfer Officer at UPPA, and Olivier Farreng, Managing Director of the Hélioparc Technopole.
The evening continued with a series of impactful testimonials from committed speakers who came to share their entrepreneurial models and the role UPPA played in their journeys.
First, graduate entrepreneurs :
- Enola Fillaudeau & Cyrielle Mothes, co-founders of WŒMEN, a brand of solidarity-based men’s underwear. For each boxer sold, €1 is donated to fund the free distribution of menstrual products, affirming that in matters of solidarity, women and men can act together.
- Sophie Escudé, co-founder and CFO of Prof en Poche, an edtech company born in Pau that has been developing AI-based educational solutions since 2015. The company has supported over 500,000 students in France and is committed to more accessible and inclusive learning.
- Pierre Marcasuzaa, CEO of Biomim’Gel, presented by Hervé Garraud (UPPA-DPIE*). Biomim’Gel offers a technology that significantly reduces the number of ingredients in everyday formulations, thus greatly reducing their environmental impact. The innovation is based on more than 10 years of research at IPREM, a UPPA laboratory.
- Sylvain Berail, CEO of Advanced Isotopic Analysis, provides innovative isotopic analysis services to understand and authenticate product origins. These analyses also provide strategic insights related to traceability in the environmental sector.
Then, student entrepreneurs :
- Maylis Qaisi, founder of a consulting agency dedicated to improving integration policies for exiled individuals, using a participatory methodology.
- Adrien Augé, co-founder of Mussofi, a brand of natural cosmetics tailored to Black and mixed-race skin, developing its product lines in e-commerce, pharmacies, and internationally.
A networking session over a cocktail dinner extended the exchanges and encouraged new synergies.
